IoT is an interesting area with numerous use cases. I tried out one open source project to collect sound (birdsongs) that is continuously analysed with a trained AI model to present what bird it is with a defined confidence. The demo streamed over Wifi continusly sound data and the hardware got rather hot as well as challenging with waterproofness when putting it outside in the garden. See more details in this article.
